Websense Rolls Out Enhanced Cloud Computing-Based Security Services

Websense has unveiled the next generation of Websense on-demand security services—Websense Hosted Email Security and Websense Hosted Web Security. The latest version combines new ease-of-use features with better protection from emerging Web 2.0 and converged threats with increased Web threat intelligence from the latest Websense URL database and Websense ThreatSeeker Network.

Web security intelligence is a critical piece of effective e-mail security because today more than 90 percent of unwanted e-mail contains embedded URLs that direct users to websites compromised with malicious code and other malware. Websense Hosted Security Services protect organisations from these threats with intelligence from the Websense ThreatSeeker Network. When an attacker attempts to send a malicious link or spam through e-mail, Websense Hosted Email Security cleans the message in the cloud before it reaches its destination. Additionally, if a user attempts to click on a malicious link in an e-mail or other application, Websense prevents the user from accessing the malicious website.

Websense cloud-based security solutions are now even easier to deploy and use, featuring a completely re-designed user interface and a single sign on for both Web and e-mail that IT managers can access at any time and from anywhere. Quarantine management in Websense Hosted Email Security has also been enhanced, allowing end users to easily view blocked e-mail, release messages, and whitelist or blacklist senders.
