Trend Micro Unveils OfficeScan 8.0

Trend Micro has announced the availability of the latest edition of its corporate desktop security solution, Trend Micro OfficeScan 8.0. It claims to be the first corporate solution to have the new Web reputation technology blended into its functionality.

The solution claims to provide greater protection against Web threats through the addition of Web Security Rating and enhanced anti-spyware technology.

OfficeScan 8.0 provides protection against multiple types of attack, including file-based malware, spyware, viruses, rootkits and hacking attempts. It extends protection beyond the corporate network with Web threat protection technology. The new technology protects endpoints from accessing malware-related websites, based upon a dynamic evaluation of individual DNS-domain reputation.

OfficeScan also features an extensible plug-in architecture that claims to enable the easy deployment of additional new functionality to installed clients, without an administrator needing to redistribute or reinstall OfficeScan.
