ISACA, IDRBT Recognise Banks For IT Risk Mgmt Programs

Global IT association ISACA and the Institute for Development & Research in Banking Technology (IDRBT), India, have issued the Award for Managing IT Risk to three deserving banks at the IDRBT Banking Technology Excellence Awards Ceremony. The winner in the large bank category is ICICI Bank, and the winners in the small bank category are Karur Vysya Bank and South Indian Bank.

The winners were selected for their effective network and security architectures, and comprehensive policies and procedures.

ISACA has more than 100,000 constituents worldwide, including 6,000 members in India. Many of these members work in the banking and financial services industry.

“IDRBT and ISACA recognise that information is the currency of the 21st century. The need for security and control of the systems that process and preserve this information is paramount,” said Greg Grocholski, CISA, International President, ISACA, in his video speech at the awards ceremony. “Both ISACA and IDRBT are committed to helping banks strengthen their governance of enterprise IT to help add significant business value."

According to B. Sambamurthy, Director, IDRBT, “IDRBT and ISACA have a significant level of shared interest in promoting best practices in IT governance, information systems audit, information security and information systems risk management, and this joint award will help encourage more banks to adopt these best practices in letter and spirit.”
