BCCL Simplifies Data Management

(BCCL) has selected NetApp"s unified storage solutions for data that includes editorial and advertorial content, pre-press applications such as electronically fixing compositional errors or problems in a digital file that is sent directly to a printing plate, and sales and billing information.

NetApp provides BCCL with a backup, recovery, and business continuity solution that claims to help BCCL be as agile as necessary while simplifying the management of its data.

According to BCCL, revenue booking and pre-press applications are absolutely mission-critical for any large media group. The organisation requires a solution that scales seamlessly while guaranteeing the highest availability. The NetApp storage and Fujitsu FlexFrame solution came closest to meeting BCCL’s expectations. The SAP applications were migrated to the new infrastructure in only one month.

The press release claims that the NetApp backup and recovery and business continuity solution was proven for its reliability and availability through Times Response, a division of BCCL, where all of the advertising sales of all BCCL media properties are processed. The success of the Times Response deployment was a critical factor in BCCL’s selection of NetApp.
