Net 4, an Indian provider of IP communications solutions, recently launched the “One World” plan, offering calls to more than 40 countries worldwide in just one rupee. This plan facilitates voice calls from a PC to phone or mobile globally by using Net4 One World calling card.
Jasjit Sawhney, CEO Net4 added, “With 2007 coined as the broadband year we are all set to capitalize on it and go to market with a new year gift for our consumers. This offering not only rejoices the home user who will now be able to make economical International calls but also will prove to be beneficial to corporates, SMEs and the BPO segment in reducing their ISD bills up to 95%.”
The internet telephony market, which is expected to grow with the advent of this product, would let people connect anywhere at a flat call rate. For example, calling up Singapore or Australia, one would end up paying Rs. 9.6 per minute, however, one can now make a call at Re.1 per minute with Net4 One World pre paid calling cards.
He further commented, “As a major call centre destination, India stands to gain a lot from voice communication over internet. The plan will be a cost effective solution for small BPO outfits where significant amount of work depends on outbound calls. Net4 has been active in the VoIP space, by end of this calendar year we are looking at adding 1,50,000 subscribers.”
