Buffalo Technology, the networking and storage solution provider is expanding the capacity of its TeraStation Live (HS-DH4.0TGL/R5) and TeraStation Pro II (TS-H4.0TGL/R5) to 4TB, providing home and business users with more hard drive space to store and share their digital content.
“According to IDC (March 2007) the amount of digital data created and copied will grow by 57% every year, reaching 988 billion gigabytes by the end of the decade,” comments Gerardine Lynch, Product Marketing Manager at Buffalo. “By expanding our TeraStation line to 4TB, space for more than 650 DVD movies for the home and 5000 CDs worth of data to the business, we are fulfilling users’ storage requirements for the foreseeable future,” he said.
While the TeraStation Live is designed for home users, the TeraStation Pro II is designed for small and medium sized businesses and home office users (SME/SOHO). It is specially designed for SMEs that require a cost-effective, high-performance NAS device, which delivers superior performance and reliability. It supports Active Directory integration to allow the TeraStation Pro II to utilise domain users and groups by working as a client member in an Active Directory domain.
Both of Buffalo’s latest NAS devices deliver transfer rates of up to 35MB/s and feature five operating modes (i.e. Standard, RAID 0/1/5/10), ensuring security of valuable data. The advanced RAID features also allow for email warnings when there is a system fault, scheduled RAID checks and continuous monitoring of the file system.
Backed by a limited two-year warranty, the 4TB devices are available now at estimated street prices of Rs 97,000 for the TeraStation Live and Rs 1,55,000 for the TeraStation Pro II. Suppliers include Dabs, Insight, PC World Business, Misco, Amazon.
