Brocade has announced the launch of Brocade 7500E SAN Router, a Fibre Channel over IP (FCIP) extension solution for entry-level remote data replication.
“Business Continuity and data protection are critical to organisations of all sizes around the world, challenging many IT managers with limited staff and budget resources to deliver data replication for disaster recovery,” said Mario Blandini, Director of Product Marketing for the Brocade Data Center Infrastructure Division. “The Brocade 7500E solution for remote data replication provides a new entry point within Brocade’s leading portfolio of SAN extension solutions for smaller organisations, and offers a cost-effective remote office option for larger enterprises.”
As mentioned in the official press release, the Brocade 7500E is a purpose-built SAN routing solution. It has a lower initial port density and bandwidth capacity and has features including redundant power supplies, Fast Write, compression, SO-TCP and fabric isolation.
