Bengaluru Airport gets an official 'BLR Airport' app on Android, iOS

Bangalore International Airport Limited (BIAL) has teamed up with ThoughtWorks to launch the first ever BLR Airport app, which will be a part of its digital platform offering. It plans a digital platform bouquet of services to simplify the travel experience at the Kempegowda International Airport through a combination of digital technologies that include the Internet of: things, people, services and data. It is available for users on iOS and Android platforms. Talking about the new digital introduction, Sanjay Reddy, MD, BIAL stated, “At BIAL our aim is to transform our customers airport experience. Every new digital introduction will combine innovation and emotion, because we strongly believe that digital is more than just technology. The ‘BLR Airport’ app is an example of how we are leveraging technology to make travel through the airport simple and easy. As we move forward our concerted efforts will be in introducing innovative and interactive digital solutions that will create value for our customers.” The BLR Airport app aims at offering passengers access to all information with a single click. The airport app claims to offer a host of new features including an easy to use interface with real-time flight information. BIAL’s digital partner, ThoughtWorks, took a detailed study of 14 leading airport apps to bring the best features to the ‘BLR Airport’ app. Some of the key features are flight tracking, updates related to flights and gates, shares special Retail and F&B offers, one touch Wi-Fi connectivity (for Android) with no repeat input of OTP and user-details, contextual notifications powered by Beacons, and more. “ThoughtWorks is proud to be associated with Bangalore International Airport Limited in delivering on their vision of a Smart Airport using Digital touch points for making the passenger journey a naturally easy experience.
