BEML Uses SAS To Optimise Spare Parts Inventory

SAS has announced that BEML Limited(formerly Bharat Earth Movers Limited) has successfully deployed SAS Service Parts Optimisation solutions to increase the manageability and profitability of their Stock Keeping Units (SKUs). The solution was successfully implemented by SAS India’s authorised partner Vayam Technologies.

“As a leader in the heavy earth-moving industry in India, we have always been at the forefront of technology usage. To optimise resources and increase profitability thorough effective and efficient spare parts forecasting, we recognised the need to leverage SAS for our Service Parts Optimisation solution. After carefully examining the market, we chose SAS as a solution and Vayam technologies as system integrator to implement the solution and to drive our quest for generating insights and optimise our inventory levels at multiple Locations/SKUs. BEML is performing the user acceptance testing (UAT) on the delivered result. We are expecting around 15% reduction in inventory by 2011,” said Rajeev Srivastva, Head Technology Division, BEML.
