On expected lines, Apple announced two new versions of its populariPhone models: the iPhone 6 and the iPhone 6 Plus. The two phoneshave the biggest screens ever on a iPhone since its launch.

Here are some details of the new offerings from Apple:

1.The iPhone 6 will have a screen of 4.7 inches and the 6-Plus will be 5.5 inches as Apple attempts to cater to those who wanted their phones withbigger displays.

2. Both phones haveanodized aluminum backs and while theiPhone 6 is 6.9 mm thick, the Plus model is7.1 mm thick. Both are effectively thinner than the iPhone 5S.

3. The two phones will have thesharpest viewing with 401 pixels per inch as compared to 326 of the iPhone 5S.

4.The two new phones will be faster and have better battery life than previous versions, Apple has promised.

5. The twophones will also have a new sensor, abarometer, to estimate how many stairsyou’ve climbed, not just how far you’ve walked or run.

6.In a area with bad cellular network but have great wi-fi? The new phones will allow users to switch from cellular networks to wi-fi seamlessly to make phone calls. In the US the feature will be available only through T-Mobile.

7. The camera resolution will stay at 8 MP. However, Apple says it is putting in new sensors that will make for better photos. Get ready for sharper images as new feature called Focus Pixels will now automatically determine the direction of the phone’s focus and the distance to move the lens. The front camera will now feature a burst mode, which allows users to take multiple selfies with one click and then choose the best one.

8. The slow motion video hasbeen improved so that it allows even slower shots andusers can now shoot footage at 240 frames per second. Video is normally shown at 60 frames per second.

9. There is no 32 GB version of the phone. While earlier versions had this, the iPhone 6 and iPhone 6 Plus will have 16 GB of storage on the base model while the other models will have more storage than before. So the new phones willcome with 64 GB and 128 GB, allowing users to store a lot morecontent on their phones.

10. The two new phones won’t arrive in India until 17 October.
