IBM has announced that it has completed three years of its 10 year strategic outsourcing agreement with Apollo Munich Health Insurance (AMHI), providers of affordable and innovative health insurance solutions. IBM collaborated with AMHI to transform its IT infrastructure and align it to business goals. The deal, valued at INR 196 Crores over 10 years, has enabled AMHI, to manage their complex multi application environment and create a stable, scalable processing operation.
While the IT spend as a percentage of gross written premium has become more predictable, IBM’s implementation has also brought down the TCO through 20% server consolidation.
Under this agreement, IBM provides continuous improvement to bring in necessary changes to drive operational efficiencies, scaling of operations and deployment of an inherently flexible IT architecture. IBM has also created an annual IT strategy consisting of a roadmap of technologies and processes to be implemented with cycle times associated with each project. In addition to setting up help desk support, e-mail/server monitoring and management, asset and security operations management, IT asset procurement and technology refresh and application management services over the last three years, IBM has also provided differentiated solutions from go-to market strategies to portfolio enhancement.
“We turned to IBM to help transform our core IT Infrastructure and build in best practices to keep pace with rapid business growth projections and add to our competitiveness in the marketplace. Over the last three years, through IBM’s robust delivery, we have increased our operational efficiencies and business uptime resulting in high levels of customer satisfaction. Our relationship with IBM has grown from strength to strength allowing us to focus on the core operations while leaving IT management to an expert,” said Antony Jacob, Chief Executive Officer, Apollo Munich Health Insurance.
The agreement will also help Apollo Munich add value to their business over the next few years in areas such as Wellness Portal, CRM, Business Analytics and next wave of Business Process outsourcing. These strategic initiatives are aligned to Apollo Munich’s IT strategy and will lead to differentiated services offerings, improved customer experience and competitive differentiators.
