AMD has announced the appointment of Ramkumar Subramanian as Sales and Marketing vice president for India and SAARC region. Subramanian will be based in Bangalore and will report to Ian Williams, AMD’s corporate vice president for the Asia-Pacific region. His responsibilities include collaborating with AMD India’s managing director, Dasaradha Gude, to drive AMD’s aggressive growth plans for the region and strengthening the company’s relationships with customers, partners, government and education audiences.
Subramanian has more than 12 years of engineering and corporate development experience in varied positions at AMD. Previously, he was a senior member of the Technology Development Group. Most recently, he was director of corporate development, responsible for initiatives in China, Brazil and Russia.
“Ramkumar has consistently demonstrated a proven track record of business skills in emerging markets such as China and Brazil,” said Ian Williams. “He is uniquely qualified to steer AMD India during this next, very significant phase of expansion.”
Subramanian said, “It is a great time to be back in India in such an exciting position, and I see this as an opportunity to build on the several achievements of the team. I can use my experience and relationships to strengthen India’s global presence and AMD’s success.”
