Bharti Airtel has named Abhay Savargaonkar as its chief technology officer (CTO) for India operations. He will also be on the company’s management board. Abhay will replace Jagbir Singh, who has resigned from his post as CTO.
Singh, CTO and Director, Network Services Group, oversaw the networks and introduction of newer technology across Airtel’s Indian and South Asian operations. His exit follows a spate of resignations at the senior level in the past 12 months coinciding with the appointment of Gopal Vittal as the CEO of Airtel.
