All two-wheeler fanatics have more reason to rejoice now because Honda Motorcycle and Scooter India (HMSI) is gearing up to launch a new sports bike next month, reported Business Standard (BS).
“The CBR 150R of the Japanese subsidiary to be launched in March is priced at about Rs 115,000, pitting it directly against the KTM Duke 200 (Rs 117,000)”, reported BS.
The KTM Duke 200 is Bajaj’s offering.The CBR 150R is Honda’s third new offering this year and will offer competition not just to Bajaj but also Yamaha (R15).“The CBR 150R is built to give Yamaha’s R15 a tough competition, as the specifications of the model suggest. Honda’s bike has better ground clearance, bigger dimension, slightly better power and a bigger fuel tank than the Yamaha bike,” reported BS motoring.
The company hopes to sell more than 3,500 units of the CBR 150R a month after its launch, the newspaper report said. The model was also showcased at the Auto Expo last month and received a strong response from visitors.
Honda also plans to release a revamped version of its CBR 250R later this month.
Honda, which has a market share of 14 percent in the two-wheeler market, is on a major growth spree as it has become the third-largest two wheeler firm in India, replacing TVS Motors.
