If you thought trolling each other on Twitter was the favourite sport of politicians in India, think again. These days brands seem to have taken cue and joined the trolling game, of course with more humour than our politicians. And no, we aren’t just talking about the Flipkart-Amazon Twitter war or the Commonfloor Vs. Housing.com advertising war! But in this era of ambush marketing, Amazon today put out a cheeky tweet making fun of Zomato’s incessant logo design changes but it was Ebay that really stole the show.
[caption id=“attachment_1151035” align=“alignleft” width=“380”] Amazon logo. Reuters image[/caption] While the Amazon tweet was meant to take a dig at Zomato’s ever changing logos in the last six months, it was the latter’s unexpected reply that took Twitter by storm. The real takeaway from the tweet is the image that showed Zomato aping the Amazon arrow pointing from A-Z.
But guess who actually won the troll prize hands down? None other than Ebay India with this tongue-in-cheek tweet.
P.S. It also seems Amazon’s #AurDikhao campaign on Twitter is not working out too well. Earlier in the day Amazon reached out to Red Bull India too. When Amazon asked the company what more it was planning for its fans, Red Bull questioned if Amazon was ready to follow them on their journey to know more. Amazon then sarcastically said that they weren’t equipped with wings like Red Bull, to which Red Bull with an image of Amazon’s flying drone said, “Who says you don’t have wings already?”
