Cashing in on the summer travel season, Air India has launched a 60-day advance purchase fare programme, with prices close to those of airconditioned train travel.
The new advance purchase fare tickets are available for sale on various routes operated by Air India from today for travel commencing 60 days and beyond.
For example, a one-way ticket between Delhi-Mumbai on Air India will cost Rs 3,981 while travel between Delhi-Lucknow will cost Rs 2,566.

The scheme is expected to spur growth in air travel and invigorate the market by encouraging holiday season travel.
Last month, Jet Airways slashed domestic airfares on 20 lakh seats by more than half for travel through the year, while SpiceJet in January cut prices by more than half on 10 lakh tickets for travel between February and April.
