Railway Minister Sadananda Gowda prioritized women safety and security during his maiden Rail Budget speech today. [caption id=“attachment_90146” align=“alignleft” width=“380”]  Reuters[/caption] In order to ensure safety of women at railway stations as well as trains, Gowda announced that 4,000 more women RPF constables will be recruited. These constables will escort all ladies coaches. Further, all RPF escort teams on board trains will carry mobile phones. The railway minister also announced battery-operated cars to ferry the old and differently-abled at all major railway stations.
