Breaking: 'Pranab reaches Parliament Toilet'

Social media is all about the budget – but all about cynicism as well. We pick the best doing the rounds now, and reproduce them verbatim, including the misspelt-for-social media bits.

Kushal Sanghvi brings out the important fact that the budget is about the common man. “The Budget may be good, bad or ugly but its the common Indian who has to budget daily in our country, and its a daily headache!!”

Partho Dasgupta looks at the politics of the budget when he asks,” shud we be looking for what Pranabda will propose or what Didi will oppose ? :)”

Here’s the answer, Partho, from Raja. “@RajaS_W Pronab should prepare an exact opp of his budget, send it to Didi, get her to completely overturn it, then present his original.”

Moneycontrol staff will have a long hard day, and someone there finds humour to ease the tension that is slowly setting in. “Now that Pranab Mukherjee has reached the Parliament, we can safely say that ‘Pranab Da is in da house,” MC tweeted.

And as Pranab Mukherjee is spotted outside parliament, there are communications specialists who spot opportunities. “Someday Samsonite or VIP will cash-in on the brief case the FM uses to carry the budget speech ! #indianpolitics #branding,”says @AmithPrabhu.

Now, it’s over to the cynics.

Cynic #1:Rohin Dharmakumar ‏ @r0h1n “It’s amazing how an archaic exercise like the budget transforms everyone into armchair economists and experts, journalists included :)”

Cynic #2: “the purpose of TV analysis is to make tweeple feel superior :D …plus phukat publicity …,” says Calamur.
