We got our hands on the CENTRiC A1 for a week, and now we can’t get our hands off!
When we returned after about fifteen minutes the CENTRiC A1 was at 65% charge!
Last week we received the CENTRiC A1 for a review, and now we are hoping CENTRiC lets us keep the smartphone.
The first thing that caught our eye was the brilliant packaging. Each and every accessory that came with the smartphone was individually packed in its own little box. This really shows how CENTRiC has focused on making the unboxing experience for their customers as pleasant as possible.
Now, let’s see what’s hiding in those boxes!
- User Manual
- Warranty card
- Transparent back cover
- Tempered glass
- Micro sim eject pin
The one thing that stands out is the earphones which means the CENTRiC A1 does have a headphone jack. The other couple of great accessories we get along with CENTRiC A1 is a transparent back cover and a tempered glass that will save you a few hundred bucks.
It’s time to deep dive into the features of the CENTRiC A1 but first, let us take a selfie!
CENTRiC A1 has an 8-megapixel front camera with a selfie flash which enables you to take stunning selfies even in low-light conditions. You can also use the fingerprint sensor to click a selfie.
The rear camera, on the other hand, is a 13-megapixel camera with LED flash, and it has a few really nifty tricks up its sleeve.
Before taking a picture you can select the size of the picture in your preferred ratio.
- 13M (4:3)
- 8M (16:9)
- 8M (4:3)
- 5M (16:9)
- 5M (4:3)
You also have the option of selecting the quality of the image as well as the ISO level. Features like auto face detection, redeye reduction and triaxial levelling are also available in CENTRiC A1’s camera.
CENTRiC A1 has a 5.5-inch FHD IPS Incell display with a density of 401 pixels per inch, and a 72.02% screen to body ratio. All these numbers look good on paper and work even better in the real world. We binged watched our favourite TV shows on the CENTRiC A1 and enjoyed to our heart's content with crystal clear picture quality and vivid colours.
CENTRiC A1 has a full aluminium body which provides a high-quality finish to the phone. The phone also feels very sturdy, and we were pretty confident that it would easily escape an accidental drop without a single scratch. The CENTRiC A1 is 7.8 mm thick, 76 mm wide and 152 mm tall which makes it quite compact and perfect for one hand usage.
CENTRiC A1 has 3 GB RAM and a very impressive Qualcomm® Snapdragon octa-core processor which makes multitasking and gaming a piece of cake. We love playing games, so we put the CENTRiC A1 to the test.
As you can see from the gameplay video, we completely overwhelmed our opponents. And the credit goes to the flawless performance of CENTRiC A1. We played other graphics heavy and online multiplayer games like Real Racing 3, Standoff, etc. and the CENTRiC A1 performed brilliantly each and every time. In addition to the brilliant performance, CENTRiC A1 has 32 GB ROM which can be expanded up to 256 GB.
CENTRiC A1 has a Li-Polymer 3000 mAh battery which has a standby time up to 210 hours and talk-time up to 15 hours. But the best feature of the CENTRiC A1 is the Qualcomm® Quick Charge™ 3.0 which has been designed to provide efficient battery charging of high-capacity batteries at speeds vastly superior to standard USB with standard cables and connectors. We connected the CENTRiC A1 to the charger at 17% battery and went for a quick snack break. When we returned after about fifteen minutes the CENTRiC A1 was at 65% charge!
Digital Theater Sound (DTS) is a digital audio technology developed by DTS, Inc. In comparison to the Dolby Digital standard, DTS uses four times less compression and digitizes audio sounds at 20 bits instead of 16 bits. This makes DTS-based audio richer in sound and more detailed than Dolby Digital-based ones. Unlike other smartphones, speakers in CENTRiC A1 are placed at the bottom instead which provides a much clearer sound.
The Final Verdict
CENTRiC A1 priced at an only 10,999 rupees has set the bar in its segment. If you compare CENTRiC A1 with other smartphone brands in the affordable smartphone segment, it becomes clear as day that the A1 has leapt far beyond its competitors. The first thing that stands out is its all-aluminium body which gives it a far superior build quality compared to plastic bodies used in other smartphone brands. Other features like DTS Sound, Quick Charge and Android Nougat OS only further widen the gap between CENTRiC A1 and its competitors.
If you are looking to buy an affordable smartphone that doesn’t have the word compromise in its dictionary then, CENTRiC A1 should be your first and only choice. Buy your own CENTRiC A1 right here!
