Zee Cine Awards 2017: Kareena Kapoor Khan to replace Katrina Kaif as performer

It was earlier reported that Katrina Kaif will not be able to perform on the stage at the Zee Cine Awards 2017 because of a neck injury that she suffered on the sets of Anurag Basu's action comedy film Jagga Jasoos. Now, Kareena Kapoor Khan has replaced Kaif in the eleventh hour as she is all set to take the stage in her first act post pregnancy.

DNA reports that the actor started working a month after she gave birth to Taimur Ali Khan in December. She walked the ramp for designer Anita Dongre at the Lakme Fashion Week Summer/Resort 2017. She went on to shoot a commercial and launched the channel, Sony BBC Earth as its 'Feel Alive' ambassador.

And now, she will set the stage on fire in a special act dedicated to the Khans. Bollywood Life reports that since most of her Rs 100 crore films have been alongside the three Khans, she will perform on songs from Anubhav Sinha's Ra.One, Rajkumar Hirani's 3 Idiots and Kabir Khan's Bajrangi Bhaijaan, in which she shared the screen space with Shah Rukh, Aamir and Salman Khan respectively.

However, since she has always maintained that her favourite Khan is her husband Saif Ali Khan, she will also perform on songs from Vijay Krishna Acharya's Tashan. Interestingly, Kareena met Saif on the sets of Tashan. It will be a pleasant sight to watch Kareena perform on the stage as she preps for getting back to shooting her upcoming film Veerey Di Wedding with Sonam Kapoor.

Besides Kareena's act, another highlight of the award show will be the reunion of long-time collaborators Govinda and Raveena Tandon who will dance on popular numbers of their films. Also, Alia Bhatt, Varun Dhawan and Sunny Leone will also perform at the event. This year, all acts are choreographed by Shiamak Davar.
