William and Kate to visit LA: Hollywood’s waiting

The latest in Hollywood: Los Angeles is awaiting the arrival of the British royal couple, Prince William and Catherine on July 8 after their week-long Canada trip. The Daily Mail reports that Hollywood stars are going all-out to meet the Duke and Duchess of Cambridge when they’re in LA. The report goes on to say that Victoria Beckham is apparently booking in advance for her Caesarean section so that she doesn’t miss the royals’ visit. Sir Elton John and partner David Furnish too are planning to throw a party to introduce the couple to Hollywood this time around. [caption id=“attachment_14093” align=“alignleft” width=“380” caption=“The uninvited might as well leave town; that’s the only way to avoid a global humiliation. Getty Images”] [/caption] Given that Victoria and Elton were not invited to the wedding reception after the Westminster Abbey ceremony, they certainly are making sure they aren’t ignored in LA. Elton had even gone to the extent of throwing a NFI – Not Flippin’ Invited bash with steak and chips on the menu after the royal rebuff. Maybe they should throw a YFI – You’re Flippin’ Invited bash to all of LA’s tucked and tanned denizens and upgrade the menu to one worthy of a royal bite. Goes without saying, it is a matter of great prestige to be seen with the royal couple at the events that the newly weds deign to attend. The uninvited might as well leave town; that’s the only way to avoid a global humiliation. A source told The Mail on Sunday: “The Royal visit is the talk of Hollywood. The deal is that several stars and organisations have been asked to put forward proposals for charity events and galas. William and Kate will go through all the options and it will be down to them to pick what they want to do.” None of the events or the duration of the royals’ visit has been confirmed yet, though there is speculation that they may visit the Yosemite National Park to see the famous redwood trees and visit San Francisco.
