Leonardo DiCaprio finally won an Oscar on Sunday, taking home the best actor statuette for his role in revenge movie The Revenant, and he made the moment count. In his acceptance speech, DiCaprio, who received a standing ovation, said: “Let us not take this planet for granted. I do not take tonight for granted.” [caption id=“attachment_2648688” align=“alignleft” width=“380”] ![Leonardo DiCaprio finally won an Oscar. It is happening right now,” DiCaprio said. “It is the most urgent threat facing our entire species, and we need to work collectively together and stop procrastinating. We need to support leaders around the world who do not speak for the big polluters or the big corporations” but for all people. DiCaprio added: “Our production needed to move to the southern tip of this planet to find snow. Climate change is real, it is happening now. It is the most urgent threat facing our entire species and we need to work collectively together, and we need to support leaders around the world who do not speak for the big polluters and the big corporations but who speak for all of humanity.” Watch his full acceptance speech here

Leo’s moving speech was applauded by Twitterarti as he ‘broke the internet’ after finally nabbing the much-awaited Oscar after six nominations.
