The trailer of Anurag Kashyap's Ugly is out and if it is any indication, the film seems to be a gritty dark psychological thriller.

The trailer depicts a divorced small time actor played by model- actor Rahul Bhat who leaves his little girl waiting in his car on a busy street for five minutes, only to find, when he returns that his daughter Kali has gone missing. What follows is a kidnapping investigation by policeman Ronit Roy.

The trailer promises an underlying emotional drama as the characters deal with the the little girl's kidnapping in different ways. There is also a whiff of Kashyap's signature wry humour.

Written and directed by Anurag Kashyap,  Ugly was screened in the Director's Fortnight section at 2013 Cannes Film Festival where it received a standing ovation.

The film also stars Girish Kulkarni, Tejaswini Kolhapure, Vinit Kumar Singh, Surveen Chawla and Vipin Sharma in pivotal roles.

Ugly is produced by Phantom Films and DAR Motion Pictures and marks Anurag's return as a director after Gangs of Wasseypur and Bombay Talkies.
