Shame! Virat Kohli slams Anushka Sharma's trolls on social media

Virat Kohli slammed trolls targeting his former girlfriend Anushka Sharma on social media on Monday.

The cricket star, who has been having a storied innings in the ongoing World T20 tournament, took to both Instagram and Twitter to ask people to stop harassing Anushka.

Virat said that people who were having a go at the actress should feel ashamed of themselves, and that those speaking negatively about Anushka needed to realise that she had no control over his game on the pitch.

On Monday, Virat posted on Instagram:

He followed it up with a tweet, which said:

The image of a stark wall with the word “shame” written on it in giant letters, which accompanied Virat’s tweet, probably said it all.

On social media, Virat also said that Anushka had been nothing but supportive of his endeavours, and had been a motivating force in his life.

While Anushka and Virat had been in a high-profile relationship since 2014, they were believed to have split up this year. However, some reports had conjectured that the couple would reunite.

In March last year, Anushka was subjected to a barrage of negative tweets after Virat was dismissed after just one run in the semi-final match against Australia during the ICC Cricket World Cup. The actress had travelled to Australia and was in the stands during the match.
