Tubelight first look: Salman Khan ups the curiousity in this grainy, dreamy poster
If you're a Salman fan, the last two days would have only increased your curiousity around Tubelight.
For a cinephile, the next few months are going to be quite epic. There's SS Rajamouli's Baahubali 2, AR Murugadoss' SPYder and Kabir Khan's Tubelight, among other films, that is creating much hype and buzz.
The teaser features the title of the film spread across the screen, struggling to be brought to life. In the background, a group of children are chorusing 'chal ja!' repeatedly in order to yes, encourage the flickering Tubelight to brighten up their day. Celebration ensues as soon as the flickering gives way to light.
And now, a first look poster of the film has been shared, revealing that Tubelight will release on Eid this year. The poster sees Salman's back with the tagline: 'Kya Tumhe Yakeen Hai?'
So far, all we know about the film is that it is based at the backdrop of the Indo-China war, in which Salman Khan plays an Indian man who falls in love with a Chinese girl.
Celebrated chinese actress Zhu Zhu essays the female lead. The songs of the film have been composed by Pritam, and there will be a cameo by Shah Rukh Khan as well.
In an exclusive interview with Firstpost, Kabir Khan revealed, "The war is just the backdrop. It is not even the setting so it is not really a war film. The setting is remotely away from the war site. We do not explore why the war happened, how it happened. There is just one character who goes to the war." He also adds about SRK's cameo, "If you see the film, you will realise that the role demanded a superstar presence. It is crucial to the plot, changes the entire plot and Shah Rukh fits the bill."
A sure shot blockbuster in the making, right?
