From James Bond to Jason Bourne, Hollywood has given us some of the best and most engaging spy thrillers, whose success is shown by the number of sequels which these movies have created. [caption id=“attachment_1787309” align=“alignleft” width=“380”] Yes, that is Tom Cruise strapped to a plane. (Screenshot from YouTube video)[/caption] However, Tom Cruise’s character Ethan Hunt from the Mission: Impossible series arguably gave the audience the best stunts seen in spy thrillers. From infiltrating a high-security vault in the CIA headquarters by hanging from a rope just to steal some documents from a computer, jumping from a high-speed train onto a helicopter (that too in a tunnel), fooling enemies with face masks, doing unbelievable stunts on a bike, jumping off a skyscraper to jumping off and climbing the Burj Khalifa in Dubai—- Cruise’s character has done it all. But Cruise is far from finished with these stunts. In fact, he might have outdone himself while shooting for Mission: Impossible 5. During the shooting of a stunt for MI 5, a man was seen clinging on to a plane nothing less than 5000 feet above ground for yet another crazy MI stunt. That man was none other than Tom Cruise himself.
A 52-year-old fully suited Cruise was seen strapped on to the flying plane as part of the stunt. Apart from the obvious question about what the stunt in the fifth instalment of MI 5 could be, the video also makes you wonder whether you would ever be motivated enough to be strapped to a plane 5000 feet above ground at 52 years of age just to entertain your audience. In fact, it makes you wonder whether you’d be able to do that at any age. Tom Cruise has certainly made everyone excited about MI 5 with this move. And we will be eagerly waiting to see the stunt in theatres when MI 5 is released.
