Pune: Bollywood actor Sanjay Dutt finally walked out a free man from the Yerwada Central Jail on Thursday after serving a 42-month prison-term. Present to receive him outside the jail amidst tight security were his wife Manyata and their children, sister and former MP Priya Dutt and her family, film director Rajkumar Hirani, thousands of fans, and a huge media contingent from across India and abroad. Arrested in 1993, he had already served 18 months as an undertrial and then returned to jail in May 2013 to serve the remaining 42 months of his sentence. Shortly after he walked out, the actor drove to Pune airport to board a chartered plane to Mumbai. Once in Mumbai, he will proceed straight to the famed Siddhivinayak temple to offer prayers. Then he will visit the Bada Kabrastan in Marine Lines and pray at the grave of his mother the late actress Nargis Dutt. He is scheduled to interact with the media later in the day. IANS
