Almost everything around Sanjay Dutt’s stint in the jail, after he was convicted in the 1993 Mumbai blasts case, has been planned well. From the press meet where he broke down, to the plea to the Supreme Court seeking an extension, the media has not let Dutt out of its sight in the past few weeks. Understandably therefore, Dutt’s life during his impending jail term has garnered a lot of interest. [caption id=“attachment_784939” align=“alignleft” width=“380”] Sanjay Dutt. AFP.[/caption] While we might have wanted to know how big a cell he will put up in, what he will wear, what he will get to eat for lunch and how many pillows he might be given, we will have to wait for all of that. What we know as of now is the fact that Dutt will not be washing utensils or cleaning floors as prisoner duty - he will be cooking for his fellow prisoners instead. The Indian Express reports:
Sanjay Dutt, who has earned crores of rupees from the films he has acted in, will be paid a paltry sum of Rs. 25 per day for the work he does. According to reports, Munnabhai actor will also get an allowance of Rs. 1500 from his family.
Dutt withdrew his plea to surrender in the Yerawada Jail in Pune and will surrender before the special court tomorrow.
