The drama around Dharma Productions’ much talked next film Shuddhi, helmed by Agneepath director Karan Malhotra is finally over. On Thursday evening, Karan Johar tweeted out the final cast, putting an end to speculations and rumours:
[caption id=“attachment_2257576” align=“alignleft” width=“380”] Varun Dhawan and Alia Bhatt. IBN Live.[/caption] There was an ongoing struggle to confirm the lead pair for this magnum opus. At first Kareena Kapoor and Hrithik Roshan were supposed to play the lead, and then there was news of Salman being considered for the hero’s role. There were also talks of Ranveer Singh and Deepika Padukone playing the lead pair too. However, Indian Express reports that before Johar could approach Singh and Padukone for them for his film, Sanjay Leela Bhansali had already confirmed them for his film Bajirao Mastani. After Johar tweeted out the cast, Shuddhi was trending on Twitter. Salman himself congratulated Varun Dhawan on being finalised. He posted an adorable baby picture of Dhawan alongside.
