Roy trailer receives more than 1.3 million hits in one day

Roy trailer was launched on Wednesday and it has already garnered more than 1.3 million hits in thanks to Ranbir Kapoor’s loyal fans.

The trailer has a lot of dramatic music, but it doesn’t look like an edge-of-the-seat entertainer and considering how much of the story has been revealed in just three-odd minutes, we wonder what further twists are left in Vikramjit Singh’s debut film as a director.

Still, what Roy lacks in the suspense department, it makes up for with style.  Ranbir Kapoor, Arjun Rampal and Jacqueline Fernandez look gorgeous, as do the locations. Fernandez with her coral lips, dark shades and floral scarves gives the vintage glamour of Jackie O a contemporary spin. Kapoor, with his shirts and cardigans, is a little bit like our desi Cary Grant. Rampal is seen in a variety of looks – with a beard, without a beard, with a Fedora, in a suit, cigarette dangling from the corner of his lips. And it all looks sexy, even when it makes no sense (who on earth uses an old-fashioned typewriter, in Malaysia, in 2014? And why?). You can read more about the trailer here.

Roy’s music has been composed by Ankit Tiwari. Directed by debutant Vikramjit Singh and produced by Bhushan Kumar, Roy is slated to release on February 13, 2015.
