Pratyusha Banerjee suicide: Police book boyfriend Rahul Raj Singh for abetment

Rahul Raj Singh, the boyfriend of Balika Vadhu actress Pratyusha Banerjee, has been booked by the police for abetting her suicide. At the time that he was booked by the cops, Rahul was still in hospital. He had been hospitalised on Monday after he complained of suffering from breathing problems. [caption id=“attachment_2713766” align=“alignleft” width=“380”]  Rahul Raj Singh with Pratyusha Banerjee[/caption] His lawyer Neerja Gupta had told PTI, that Rahul had been placed in the ICU and that his condition was “very fragile”. “He hasn’t eaten. He is in a state of depression after Pratyusha’s death,” Gupta had said. Ever since news of Pratyusha’s suicide emerged, there were numerous reports that claimed relationship troubles with Rahul were the cause of the actress’ extreme step. Several “friends” of Pratyusha, fellow colleagues from the TV industry, had made a wide range of claims about Rahul, including accusing him of cheating on the actress as well as being physically violent with her. Rahul’s parents on the other hand, had said that there were no issues between their son and Pratyusha. On the contrary, they said the actress had had a falling-out with her family over financial issues, which was the cause of her distress. It was Rahul who had discovered Pratyusha’s body on the evening of 1 April, and had brought her to Kokilaben Hospital. He had been questioned by the police, but after he complained about being unwell, was taken to hospital.
