Actor George Clooney and human rights lawyer Amal Alamuddin got married in a hotel overlooking the famous Grand Canal. Here are a few photos from the event.

Clooney said goodbye to bachelorhood on Friday night with a stag party at his favourite restaurant, just hours after sweeping into the floating city with Amal aboard a water taxi dubbed “Amore”. Reuters

After dodging the paparazzi, Clooney with his friends went to Da Ivo for their famous Venetian and Tuscan delicacies. The party went on till Saturday evening in the 450-year-old Palazzo Papadopoli. Reuters

Reports said that the five-course dinner included lemon risotto with lobster and a sea bass main – as well as a wedding cake. Clooney had 100 cases of his own tequila label flown in. Reuters
