Sixty-eight-year-old Michael Douglas said in an interview to Guardian that he contracted cancer from performing oral sex. E Online reports:
When asked whether or not he now regretted his years of smoking and drinking, which are usual causes of such a disease, the celeb replied, “No. Because without wanting to get too specific, this particular cancer is caused by HPV [human papillomavirus], which actually comes about from cunnilingus.”

The Times of India
reports that Douglas’ claims aren’t unfounded. A report quotes Cancer Research UK which says that oral sex with multiple partners can lead to cancers caused from HPV infection. It also says that men are more likely to get cancer from oral sex than women. “Most sexually active adults will be infected with at least one type of HPV at some time during their life. For many people, the virus causes no harm and goes away without treatment. Only a very small percentage of people with HPV develop oropharyngeal cancer,” TOI quotes Cancer Research.
