Previously, it was said that Christopher Nolan was being considered, but now, Deadline reports that Yann Demange, Denis Villeneuve and David Mackenzie are the front runners for this position.

French director Yann Demange is best known for helming two TV series Dead Set and Top Boy, as well as the 2014 film '71. His upcoming project is White Boy Rick, a crime drama which stars Matthew McConaughey. Denis Villeneuve's Sicario and Arrival made waves at the Academy Awards, and David Mackenzie's Hell or High Water premiered at the Un Certain Regard section of the Cannes Film Festival.

The previous Bond films featuring Daniel Craig were directed by Martin Campbell, Marc Forster and Sam Mendes. The upcoming one will be written by Neal Purvis and Robert Wade, the writers of Casino RoyaleQuantum of SolaceSkyfall and Spectre.

This James Bond film is slated to release on 8 November 2019, which means that it will clash with an untitled Disney film.

The film is also on the lookout for a new distributor, as its deal with Sony has ended. It is being speculated that Warner Bros is likely to distribute it, reports Variety.

The first film in the James Bond franchise was released in 1962. These films are based on the book series written by Ian Fleming. Apart from Daniel Craig, six other actors have played the role of the British spy.
