Sabrina in one of her interviews had said “I’ve always visualised Dev_saab_ racing against time.” That is the man, who never seemed to pause for a breath. In fact, this magical quality in him gave him his first big break too. Running to catch a train that was just pulling out in Churchgate, Dev Anand was called by director Shahid Lateef. Later, he was cast in the small budget, black and white film, Ziddi which was a surprise hit and made Dev Anand the star. People often wondered and asked him about his tandurusti ki raaz (secret to his fitness), he in his usual Dev style would just smile and say, “The mind never grows old but always urges you to surge ahead”. And even at 87 his words remain true. Dev Anand continues to surge ahead. Young in mind and spirit, the man has a long way to go. Dev Anand says, ‘For a star maker, the show must go on’… and can we not believe him? Of course it will continue. That too in a grand way. Happy birthday to Dev_saab_. [fpgallery id=240]
