'Half Girlfriend' only film I'm doing right now: Arjun Kapoor dismisses 'Mr India 2' rumours
Arjun Kapoor, rumoured to be in the sequel of Mr India, says the only film he is a part of right now is Half Girlfriend, based on Chetan Bhagat's book
New Delhi: Actor Arjun Kapoor, who was rumoured to be in the sequel of the science fiction superhero film Mr India, says the only film he is a part of right now is Half Girlfriend.
Asked if he is a part of Mr India 2, Arjun told IANS: "These reports come and go. I wish I knew about my life as much... These are all speculative rumours. The only film I am working on right now is Half Girlfriend.”
Arjun, who is currently riding high on the success of his latest release Ki & Ka, was seen playing the role of a house-husband to actress Kareena Kapoor Khan's character in the R Balki film.
Directed by Mohit Suri, Half Girlfriend, which also features actress Shraddha Kapoor, will be Arjun's second movie based on a Chetan Bhagat novel.
The Gunday star previously starred in Abhishek Verman's 2 States along with Alia Bhatt, which was an adaptation of Bhagat's novel 2 States: The Story of My Marriage.
Half Girlfriend is the love story of a Bihari boy and a polisged, cosmopolitan girl. Chetan Bhagat had tried to represent how the ability to speak English defines a new kind of class system in India. Arjun will portray the role of Madhav, who wants to bein a relationship with Riya (Shraddha Kapoor). RIya, however, is not interested in committing to Madhav, and is therefore known as his "half girlfriend".
Mohit Suri was expected to shoot the film in locations like Bihar, Delhi and New York.
