The latest episode of Game of Thrones has a heartbreaking twist. Stannis Baratheon shows his cruel side as he tragically burns his daughter Shireen alive to Daenerys Targaryen’s spectacular escape with help from her dragon Drogon. The penultimate episode as always did not disappoint and Twitter was not happy with the cruel turn of events.

“Game of Thrones” showrunner Dan Weiss told Entertainment Weekly saying, “Horrible things happening to people in this show, and this is one that we thought was entirely [narratively> justified. It was set-up by the predicament that Stannis was in. It will be awful to see, but it’s supposed to be awful.”
