Furious with gossip on split from Malaika Arora Khan, Arbaaz Khan 'won't react'

Mumbai: Just a day after Malaika Arora Khan and Arbaaz Khan issued a joint statement that said they were taking a break from their marriage of 18 years, the latter affirmed that he would not be giving any comments or reactions on the subject of their “divorce” from here on. [caption id=“attachment_2701284” align=“alignleft” width=“380”] ![Malaika Arora Khan with Arbaaz Khan. Image from Reuters[/caption] Arbaaz made his intentions regarding not speaking about his separation from Malaika clear enough, when he posted on social media: “No more reactions from me henceforth”. His posts were seemingly a response to several articles on Tuesday which claimed that contrary to what the couple had said in their joint statement, Malaika was consulting a divorce lawyer, and that Arbaaz (and not Malaika) had been the one to give out the statement as “there was too much pressure on him to separate with dignity”. On Tuesday, Arbaaz tweeted:

No more reaction from me henceforth, If they are not sensitive and don't respect people's privacy then they are not worth losing sleep over

— Arbaaz Khan (@arbaazSkhan) March 29, 2016

He also called out the reports that had quoted a nameless “friend of the couple” as the basis of their allegations.

Not a day passed after giving a joint statement and saying not to believe sources or supposed friends...

When the couple had issued their joint statement, Arbaaz had posted a link to the same on his social media account, adding a request for privacy. Malaika had linked to his post on her Instagram account as well.

Speculation that the couple’s marriage had ended had been doing the rounds of the film industry for several months now. The joint statement by Malaika and Arbaaz confirmed that they had separated.
