Ekta Kapoor doesn't want to be called 'queen' of Television

Mumbai: She is often referred as the “queen” of Indian TV for her path-breaking shows but producer Ekta Kapoor says she is anything but that. IBN-Live[/caption] Ekta, who gave iconic shows like Kyunki Saas Bhi Kabhi Bahu Thi and Kahaani Ghar Ghar Kii, says TV is very dynamic and changes every day. “I swear I am not the queen of television. Television is the queen herself. We are just subjects. Some days she is happy with us, and grants us TRPs and for short-term we think we are having a blast on TV. Somedays she discards us and for four years we won’t get a show on air,” she told reporters. The 40-year-old TV and film producer was speaking at the launch of her new show on small screen Kasam Tere Pyaar Ki. Ekta has many hit shows to her kitty and the producer says instead of chasing success, she focuses towards her work. “I’ve seen a lot (ups and downs). You should have passion towards your work, never towards success because the outcome is never in our hand but the journey is.” Kasam Tere Pyaar Ki is a tale of star-crossed lovers Rishi, played by Ssharad Malhotra and Tanushree (Kratika Sengar). The show will premiere on Colors on March 7. PTI
