The longest-running American sitcom and one of the popular animated series The Simpsons killed off a character in their Season 26 premiere. Krustofski was the father of Krusty the clown, who was a prominent character in The Simpsons. As Mashable reported, even though the Rabbi had appeared in only six episodes before his death in the season premiere, the Simpsons fans did not take his death very well. People on Twitter generally responded negatively to the Rabbi’s death, with some people mourning the Rabbi’s death to some severely criticising the animated series of a cheap publicity stunt.

Even though some people thought that Krusty himself was going to die in the episode, most of the people on Twitter had guessed the demise of his father.

While mourning the loss of Rabbi Hyman Krustofski, in the season 26 premiere, the show also honoured late comedienne Joan Rivers with a brief tribute. An animated version of Rivers, 81, was featured briefly among a group of people in ‘Jewish Heaven’ based on the imagination of Krusty who just lost his father. (With inputs from PTI)
