When it comes to imitating Beyonce, it’s not a task that lesser mortals like us would attempt. Clearly, the same can’t be said for Benedict Cumberbatch. Cumberbatch took up the challenge of walking like the pop star. Rest assured, that walk is, in the words of a Beyonce song, flawless. Don’t believe us? Watch this video:
While Cumberbatch may have trouble saying penguins and maybe is the only freakshow talent he has, this video shows that the actor really knows how to put his best foot forward. As Cumberbatch sashays down the stage at BBC’s The Graham Norton Show after being challenged by comedian Miranda Hart, we couldn’t help but remember the dance-off between Tim Hiddleston and Cumberbatch. In case you thought the Beyonce walk is the high point in Cumberbatch’s performance career, here are some other things that he can do when he isn’t acting in films and television shows. Cumberbatch, who often participates in public readings of poems is great at recitation. While we do not know if he has written any poem himself, click here to hear him read out, John Keats’ Ode to a Nightingale.
Bathroom Singer: With a voice like that, Cumberbatch can hardly go wrong with singing either and the actor did croon in one of his films, August: Osage County, proving he can hit the right notes; reason enough perhaps for One Direction and Justin Bieber to be thankful that Cumberbatch isn’t eyeing the pop scene. Cumberbatch also crooned a few lines when he read the part of the Angel Islington in a radio version of Neil Gaiman’s Neverwhere. For hip hop fans, you can listen to Cumberbatch reading out R Kelly’s “ Genius”. It truly is quite genius. You can hear him singing in August Osage County here:
Twinkly toes: The actor may be able to strut like Beyonce, but their dancing skills are not quite at the same level of proficiency. As the video below shows, Cumberbatch can bust some moves but it clearly helps if he’s put down a few gulps of intoxicating beverages before hitting the dance floor. Click here to watch the video.
