Bajrangi Bhaijaan Trailer: Typical Salman Khan film that will give you a sense of deja vu

There’s always a sense of grandeur in Salman Khan films, if not anything else. And that’s the one common thing you won’t miss in any of his movies. When the Bajrangi Bhaijaan teaser released a couple of weeks ago, all we could tell about the film was that Salman is a playing a righteous, common man (yeah, right) who swears to return a lost girl back to her home. There were a lot of silhouetted, slo-mo shots in the teaser, as if the story was a big secret that the makers were building up for. And now the largely 3 minute trailer, which was released on Thursday afternoon, puts out the whole story of Bajrangi Bhaijaan on the table, and we can’t help but feel a sense of deja-vu. [caption id=“attachment_2301850” align=“alignleft” width=“380”] ![Salman](https://images.firstpost.com/wp-content/uploads/2015/06/Salman.jpg) Screen grab from the trailer.[/caption] Salman’s plays a kind-hearted, strong saviour, and Kareena is his zesty but ornamental love interest. Nawazuddin makes an appearance only one and half minutes in, and there’s no sign of him being a villain/nemesis or anything really, according to this trailer. They just show his face to mark his presence. But of course, it’s Bhai’s film after all. It seems to be a simple story: A girl is lost in a new city and the trauma has rendered her speechless. Pawan Kumar Chaturvedi, or Bajrangi as everyone lovingly calls Salman, finds her and makes it his mission to get her back home. Somewhere in the middle of all this are a couple of songs (Selfie le le for one, which we must admit is rather catchy) and a budding love story between Kareena and Salman, best established by an intimate scene where they, wait for it, ride a cycle together. However, the landscape that the film travels through is definitely beautiful. We see shots of parched Rajasthan deserts, and the misty valleys of Kashmir. The costumes are colorful, and so is Salman’s comic timing. Maybe we’re warming up to him, but he seems to be getting better at playing the goofy guy turned badass hero. All of this is interspersed with a dramatic, loud background score and cutting visuals of Salman beating up the bad guys. But of course, it’s Bhai’s film after all. And that is essentially all that you can deduce from the trailer, beyond all the analysis. Good or bad, it ultimately seems to be a quintessential Salman Khan film. Maybe better than a Bodyguard or a Ready but who knows? This trailer does nothing but celebrate Salman Khan, and while that may not necessarily be a bad thing, you won’t be able to judge the film until you watch it.  We can only hope there’s something new in Bajrangi Bhaijaan. Meanwhile, watch the trailer here:
