Bade Bade Deshon Mein: Obama quotes DDLJ, NaMo re-uses, SRK thanks, Twitter bezerk

Narendra Modi may have had his “ May the force be with you" moment in New York but US President Barack Obama today  went one up  by quoting Shah Rukh Khan’s famous line ‘Senorita, bade bade deshon mein…’ from the blockbuster Dilwale Dulhania Le Jayenge at the Siri Fort auditorium on his last day in India. He drew a loud cheer from the audience after he borrowed SRK’s famous dialogue from the movie. “Last celebration here we celebrated festival of lights in Mumbai. We danced with some children. Unfortunately, we were not able to schedule any dancing in this visit. Senorita, bade bade desho mein… you know what I mean,” Obama said with a smile while addressing a Town hall event on the third and final day of his visit to India. PTI image[/caption] It immediately sparked a frenzy among the Bollywood star’s supporters and among the top tags on Twitter were ‘SRK Pride Of India’ and ‘Bade Bade Deshon Mein’. Just in case you don’t remember the entire dialogue from the film, here it is:

Khan may not have had a chance to meet with the US president but was hopeful he would fulfil Obama’s wish of being able to dance:

Proud 2 b part of the gender & religion equality speech of Pres. Obama. Sad he couldn't do the Bhangra...next time Chaiyya Chaiyya for sure

— Shah Rukh Khan (@iamsrk) January 27, 2015

Even Indian Prime Minister Narendra Modi got in on the act and while thanking the US President for visiting the country used the now famous dialogue from the film:

As for the rainy day yesterday, as you yourself said @WhiteHouse today morning, Bade Bade Deshon Mein... :)

— Narendra Modi (@narendramodi) January 27, 2015

And as expected Twitter was full of reactions to the US President’s use of an Indian film dialogue. Here are some of them:

Obama quoted DDLJ

Reporter: sir, what do you think of our PM's suit?

Obama: Bade bade deshon mein aisi choti choti baatein hoti rehti hain
