Alok Nath. Agencies[/caption] A few months back, Alok Nath had taken the micro-blogging site by storm with a new joke format on his saanskar He joined Twitter soon owing to his sudden popularity on the site. However, on Sunday evening, Alok Nath was the talk of Twitter for being not quite sanskaari. It all started when people started tweeting pictures with their daughter and the hashtag #SelfieWithDaughter started trending after Prime Minister Narendra Modi tweeted about it.
PM Modi’s tweet which had over 1500 retweets got Indians worldwide share an unprecedented number of selfies with their daughters; however women rights’ activist Kavita Krishnan wasn’t impressed.
Speaking strongly against Narendra Modi, Krishnan, who is also the secretary of All India Progressive Women Association, seemed to be hinting at the 2013 scandal in which Modi and his close aide Amit Shah were allegedly accused of using their powers to spy on a woman. Her tweet did not go down well with a lot of Modi supporters who tweeted at her calling her names and hailing the Prime Minister’s efforts. She even started trending on Twitter and has been one of the top trends ever since. However, the one person whose response caught everyone by surprise was that of Alok Nath. Replying to an user’s tweet about Krishnan, he wrote ‘Jail the bitch’. Though he later deleted his tweet- - the damage had already been done.
After recovering from the initial shock, Twitter users got back to doing what they do best– add a thoughtful and hilarious twist to any incident. They didn’t disappoint this time either.
With just one tweet, Alok Nath seemed to have made a lot of enemies as well.
The question that everyone seems to be wondering is thus- Will the real Alok Nath please stand up?
