As actress Shikha Joshi's lay bleeding, friends took video to save themselves

So imagine your friend is lying in a pool of blood after slitting her throat and your first plan of action is not to rush her to a hospital but to take a video of her as she lies bleeding so that you are exonerated of any wrongdoing. Yet, when 40-year-old actress Shikha Joshi was found lying with her throat slit and bleeding to death, that’s exactly what her roommate, flat owner Madhu Bharti and another individual did. The video was shot after they barged into the bathroom when she did not respond to them. The Mumbai police is now relying heavily on this video as evidence in the case. The actress has featured in a small role in 2012 film “BA Pass” along side lead actress Shilpa Shukla. But when Madhu Bharti and an unidentified person found her in that condition they are reportedly heard in the video repeatedly asking, “Why did you do this? why? We will tell the police,” said a report in the Mumbai Mirror. They then proceeded to argue over whether to take her to the hospital in the car as it would result in blood all over the car or whether they should call an ambulance. They also kept telling her to hold the handkerchief tightly against her neck wound. In the video, after being prodded repeatedly Shikha has accused a “Dr Sharma” and other married men for exploiting her. According to police, Joshi had raked up a controversy in 2011 when she alleged molestation by a doctor who had done her breast implant surgery. The video has raised questions over whether the actress’s friends could have instead rushed her to the hospital and possibly saved her life, instead of spending time documenting why she had attempted suicide.
