Actor Vindu Dara Singh was today arrested in connection with a betting scandal associated with the Indian Premier League. The actor, best known for winning the third season of reality television show Bigg Boss, was arrested by the crime branch of the Mumbai Police today after he was allegedly found to be in regular contact with arrested bookie Ramesh Vyas, CNN-IBN reported. Call records of the bookie had reportedly revealed the link with Singh, the report stated, adding that the actor has reportedly admitted to knowing the bookie. There was no confirmation about any link between Singh’s arrest and the Delhi police probe into spot fixing in the IPL in connection with which three Rajasthan Royals players, including former international player S Sreesanth were arrested. The Mumbai police had earlier raided the hotel room of Sreesanth and seized personal electronic items belonging to Sreesanth. The city police had also busted a betting racket in connection with the IPL, in which they had arrested many bookies. However, they have found no evidence of the involvement of any players in the racket yet.
