Raju Shelar/Firstpost”] [/caption] Nagesh Kukunoor is back with a new film, Mod, starring Ayesha Takia and Rannvijay Singh. The Hyderabad Blues director hasn’t seen a hit since Aashayein (2010) starring John Abraham and 8 x 10 Tasveer starring Akshay Kumar. The films failed to charm the audience despite having glamourous and big stars on board. The filmmaker held a press conference for Mod in Mumbai on Tuesday afternoon and spoke at length about the love story based on a Taiwanese film, Keeping Watch. Kukunoor bought the rights of Keeping Watch after having seen it at the AFFF (Asian Festival of 1st Films), now known as the International Festival of 1st Films, where he was on the jury. Mod was shot entirely in Ooty, away from all the hype and hoopla that accompanies the shoot of a typical Bollywood film, as he’d experienced firsthand with his last two films. Takia, who had said she would only do select films after her marriage to restaurateur Farhan Azmi in 2009, chose to work with Kukunoor since the two share a great creative space after she did the very acclaimed Dor with him. Rannvijay took a day off from his venomous Roadies avatar and waxed eloquent on the fabulous experience he’d had working on Mod.
