Editor’s note: This comment was made by a reader, Indian on the article, How Lokpal took care of political foes before tackling corruption published earlier today. In the comment, Indian says that Lokpal might fuel more corruption, increase red tapism and he also advocated two-party system as it exists in many developed countries. It is Firstpost policy to edit for grammar and spelling, but this comment has been left as is. By Indian For sure this comment will attract lot of criticism from AAP supporters but I want replies only from sensible people not from the ones who have got flown with the wind. Till date Kejriwal has done only one thing, saying all leaders are corrupt and anti-national apart from himself. To run a country one needs to be smart as well, apart from being honest. Let’s for a while consider that he’s both honest and smart but that does not mean that everyone else in his party is honest. If you have to manage one person you will be able to that with great efficiency, if you have do same with 10 people your efficiency will decrease a bit, in case of 100 people it’ll deteriorate even further.[caption id=“attachment_1294431” align=“alignleft” width=“380”] Lokpal crusader Anna Hazare. PTI[/caption] In same way as AAP will grow in size, same difficulty will come in their management as well which in turn will induce corruption even in them. They are nothing more than old wine in new bottle. No doubt today congress has become a very corrupt party but in its initial days there were some really good leaders like Mahatma Gandhi at its helm. Corrupt people were there even during his tenure. Apart from him Congress has given other good leaders as well like Kamaraj, Sardar Vallabbahi Patel, PV Narasimha Rao, Lal Bahadur Shastri etc. in the past. In same way BJP also has given some good leaders like Atal Bihari Vajpayee. Corruption can only be decreased, it cannot be eliminated completely. The AAP has proposed Jan Lokpal bill as an option for curbing corruption but who will make sure Lokpals are doing their job properly? If today we have to pay Rs 100 for getting a work done in a government office then with Lokpal we may need to pay Rs 200. Rs 100 extra for the Lokpal sitting on the head of the clerk doing your job. Lokpal can even increase red tapes in the system. There are other ways of reducing corruption we should think in that direction. Also AAP talks about giving subsides same like other parties instead of creating jobs and giving education. Well none of the political party talks much about education but at least BJP is trying to create more jobs. If we look at the present leadership, probably BJP has best leaders like Narendra Modi, Shivraj Singh Chouhan, Raman Singh, Manohar Parrikar etc. But a strong opposition is required to make sure that BJP stays a good party. Most of the developed countries have two-party system. If we look at options then we find Congress and most of regional parties have become totally hopeless party and if I look at AAP, it’s a party which needs to gain lot of experience, in fact some of their policies are like that of communists or socialist parties and some are that of pseudo-secularist parties. Please remember before becoming a revolutionary it’s important to analyze what you are fighting for. Communists were also revolutionaries but instead of giving good governance they ended up killing more number of people in peace time than people died in both world wars combined. Also they have made countries more corrupt like Russia which is still struggling to come out of it.
AAP will find it tough to control internal corruption when it grows bigger in the days to come.
