Virat Kohli: The colourful manjha that binds the RCB team

Virat Kohli is a very colourful young man. Laced with tattoos all over his hands, a very big smile on his face and of course, not to forget, some of the choicest Hindi terms for your mother and sister. He is one man with a lot of enthusiasm, vibrancy and youthful rawness. He led India to a successful Under-19 World cup victory back in 2008. A few years with the senior side and already there is talk of elevating him to captain, at least for the T20s to begin with. BCCI[/caption] He has always shown promise as a youngster and with his mature hundreds against Australia in the recent Tests are anything to go by then this young man could well become the successor to our Midas man - MS Dhoni. International cricket aside, currently too, with The Royal Challengers Bangalore, Virat has been instrumental in their wins. He stamped his authority in the match against Sun Risers Hyderabad with a brilliant counter-attacking 93*. He has never shied away from responsibility and was seen coming out to open in the crucial Super Over against the same team a couple of matches ago with the mighty Chris Gayle, chasing 21 for a win. Virat is one of the youngest captains going around in this year’s IPL. He is someone who thrives under pressure and yearns to go out and prove himself every time he goes out to bat. He sets the bar high with his fielding and very early in his career has already earned the respect of his peers. Kevin Pietersen, who was once a part of RCB, once complimented him saying that he was one of the best cricketers in the world at that age. Sachin Tendulkar too, has always publicly appreciated his efforts and believes he is one man who can come close to beating his records in international cricket. Coming from the God himself this ins huge! Leaving the experts aside, the female fans of Kohli will agree hands down that Kohli’s charm is here to stay. I call him the colourful manjha of this team because similar to the manjha that gives flight to his kite, Kohli is trying to give wings to his RCB and achieve their dream of an IPL victory. The manjha not just holds the kite and lets it soar but also protects it when under attack. It goes on the offensive when needed; yet it remains soft at the lower half not harming the owner of this wonderful kite. RCB is the colourful kite that aims to fly high this year and they have chosen the right manjha. This bright, young, sharp manjha will not let the kite down. This manjha will let his owners jump up in joy and yell out the war cry: kai po che!!
