The Lord of the Kings - Sir Ravindra Jadeja

In the IPL you have ordinary players, good players, legendary players and then you have Ravindrasingh Anirudhsingh Jadeja, popularly known as Sir Sri Sri Ravindra Jadeja. Call him Sir, Sri Sri, Baba, Lord or even Legendary Jadeja but don’t forget to add ‘R’ in front of Jadeja because you don’t want to hurt his feelings by comparing him to Ajay Jadeja. Such cricketers are born once in a decade; though I can’t recollect who heralded in the previous decade. But yes, Sir Ravindra Jadeja, with his golden arm, silver tooth and black goggles manages to do what Vinod Kambli till date only dreams of doing - to perform time and time again. [caption id=“attachment_694651” align=“alignleft” width=“380”] ![Even MS Dhoni is in awe of Sir Ravindra Jadeja. AFP](https://images.firstpost.com/wp-content/uploads/2013/04/Jadeja-dhoni-afp.jpg) Even MS Dhoni is in awe of Sir Ravindra Jadeja. AFP[/caption] Going back in the timeline, it all started in the first edition of the IPL in 2008. A 19-year-old boy was considered the next big thing. His team, Rajasthan Royals, went on to win the IPL with much thanks to the blessings of the Lord. However in 2010, Sir RJ was banned from the IPL for a year for negotiating with other IPL teams. A donation to the Lord was considered illegal without the consent of the temple owners, BCCI to be precise. Critics claimed that this could very well be the end of the boy’s cricketing career. Yes, they were right. It was indeed the end of a boy’s career but it was the rise of a legend’s career. Sir Ravindra Jadeja was purchased by Kochi Tuskers but they proved to be a fake devotee of the Lord and eventually perished the next season. Meanwhile India Cements continued their winning streak by winning consecutive IPL titles in 2010-2011. But the team was in a fix. Dhoni and his boys were there right on top but still felt something was missing. In 2012, the Kochi team dissolved and every team suddenly had the chance of picking up new players. It was a hard choice for CSK to choose their next best player. On the day of auction, people saw white smoke coming out of the India Cement factory. Yes, they had selected their lord. They were ready to pay every price for it and they rightfully paid $2 million plus the tie-breaker to get Lord Ravindra Jadeja. Yes, a man who at that stage had never scored a fifty or taken a five-for in an IPL match was purchased for over Rs 10 crore. That is because there is nothing Sir Ravindra Jadeja cannot do. The captain cool quoted on 10th of April, 2013 that, ‘God realised that Rajni is getting old so he created Sir Ravindra Jadeja.’ ‘Sir Jadeja doesn’t run to take the catch but the ball finds him and lands on his hand.’ All this respect comes from great performances by the Lord. There are infinite achievements from Sir but to name a few - - CID’s ACP Pradhuman learned to spin his hand seeing Sir Ravindra Jadeja’s bowling. - Sir Ravindra Jadeja never wants to take the Man-of-the-match award because he does not consider himself a man. He considers himself GOD. - Akash Ambani is the piggy bank of Sir Ravindra Jadeja - Sir Ravindra Jadeja is Victoria’s secret. - Sir Ravindra Jadeja prefers wearing half orange and half purple cap during the IPL. And like firm believers in God and Babas a few people on Twitter shared their experience on what they believed the Lord is, has done or what he really is capable of doing. @LeftOverWoman: The coin refers to Sir Jadeja before the toss. @Djaynomic: Melbourne Cricket Club (MCC) to be renamed as Sri Sri Ravindra Jadeja Cricket Club (SSRJCC) in honour of Sir’s heroics. @Prashant_k182m: Sir Ravindra Jadeja is contemplating bowling with his right arm now so that he gives batsmen some chance of playing him! @The_Mudgal7m: Sir Ravindra Jadeja never gets a run out; the bails are too scared to fall off! A million sports critics and a couple of million twitter followers have bowed down to this Legend and have confessed seeking mercy.
